I thought the first weekend went very well (at least the first day since I had other commitments on the second).
The personality profile information on the first day was very helpful. It confirmed many things I already knew about myself and motivated me to continue down the path I am laying for myself and my family.
Thanks for organizing the first meeting, I'm looking forward to the next one in January.
Hi From Keith Halvorson!
The experience was extremely helpful to me.
I have discussed the DiSC profile with many at work and a couple of Customers.
Day two was a real eye opener to me. Just the basic forms and outlines work wonders and the whole process makes me remember -- why and the purpose --behind the presentation.
The team building went way better than expected – those things usually really turn me off – this one went well. Good Job!
Later,
Keith Halvorson
I enjoyed the first session and am looking forward to the next 3!
Day 1 was interesting, although I basically already knew my personality and the profile just confirmed a lot for me. What I have taken away from that is more of how I deal with others. The most helpful part of that was having the different groups lay out what fears they have and what others can do to benefit their personality types. I work with a strong 'D' personality, and now it is easier for me to take myself out of the equation and trust him more and not let my 'C' personality try to fix and detail him to death!
Day 2, I feel, was more beneficial to me. I actually wish that we could have done the Public Speaking all day on Friday and shortened the DiSC segment. The hands-on actually using what applies to specific situations is very helpful for me. I am here to soak up as much of that useful information as possible!
Thank you for an eye opening experience and I will see you all in January!
Amy-
Thanks for the input on more of public speaking. I will definitely keep that in mind for next year. Maybe 2 hours for DiSC and 3 for speaking? Or would that be too long?
3 hours would not be too long for me, but I am a sponge, so hard to say what others would think! :)
I know that this is late, sorry everyone. Just finished LeadershipPLENTY training in Pierre and am finally getting to my emails! I truly enjoyed the first session. First because I enjoyed the interaction and discussion that we well had. Second, because the speakers and activities were relevant and useful. The DiSC thing was fun and learned about myself and how to interact with others. Both speakers on the second day did a wonderful job. I look forward to the next session.
What a wonderful weekend that has just about been a month ago. I just got back from a short trip from a Christmas in Omaha and as I listened, talked, and watched the thirty individuals that I traveled with I took into consideration what we had leaned in our DiSC profile session. It was interesting to reflect on how each personality comes out!! I am excited for the next "get together" in this year long commitment. I felt that the speakers were excellent, but would have enjoyed hearing the speeches from the other participants. "Personal Motivation" is exactly what I got out of the first session. I knew that I could get up and be successful with my speech, although getting up in front of people is not my strong point. I approached it like teaching a classroom of students which gave me the confidence, and I was able to complete the task at hand. I look forward to getting to know each and every on of you and am very pleased on how the weekend went. Not only is Jolene my daughter, but she is very good at what she does, and has proven that by putting together a "awesome" first session. Until January!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
